TO: Dealers, General Managers, and F&I Managers

Most of you know of the Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals, commonly known as AFIP. AFIP was founded in 1989 to meet the needs of franchise automobile dealer’s F&I practitioners. Their purpose is to help elevate the level of professionalism in Finance & Insurance practitioners around the country. If you currently are not a member of AFIP, I would highly advise you to go through their certification course. It will advance your knowledge and professionalism.

Dave Robertson, founder and president of AFIP, wrote an article in the October, 2002 issue of F&I Management & Technology that I feel really hits the nail on the head regarding the issue of ethics. I have attached it and hope you find it well worth reading.
